I’ve realized I have little reminders of home even in this foreign land.
The other day I heard the noise of lawn care – mowing and weed eating. It made me think of waking up on Saturday mornings and hearing my dad doing those things. Good times :) Even though I sometimes woke up apprehensive that I would be pulled into the work.
I’ve purchased sandwiches for breakfast the past few days. If I get to the breakfast shop early enough, I can just pick one up and don’t have to say a word. It’s fabulous. I pick up a sandwich and hand them my money (about $0.60). The sandwiches are cute. It is cut into 2 triangles and then wrapped in a bag. THAT reminds me of grilled cheese sandwiches. My mom always cut them into triangles. If she didn’t, we freaked. It’s just the way it is done!
And finally, working with students here reminds me of student teaching and the students at Albion Middle School. They are similar in a lot of ways!
Oh, nearly forgot. I have a picture of delicate arch at my desk. That reminds me of the beautiful scenery in Utah and the family hike we went on just before I came over. I love pictures!!!!
That’s all for now. Just wanted to let you know I have little reminders of home.

Hi Amberlee,
I love opening your blog and seeing a new posting!
I think you meant mowing rather than moving.
Funny what triggers memories to come to the forefront of our minds...
Your sure sound "up" today - that is great! We love you tons!!!

Isn't it fun to capture simple little moments? Love you, G. Barlow
